Take full advantage of peach season and whip up this delicious Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie! I use unsweetened coconut milk – the kind that comes in a carton, not the can. I love this brand. You could also use almond milk, or even regular milk, if you don’t have a problem with dairy.

Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie

During peach season we have an abundance of peaches which means I end up peeling, slicing and freezing peaches during most of the summer. This is great because I can have peaches and cream smoothies even into the fall and early winter months! This recipe calls for frozen peach slices, but you can totally make it with a fresh peach (or two), but you might need to add a a small handful of ice just to make it a bit more frosty. If you do use a fresh peach, wash it well, cut it in half to remove the pit and throw it in the blender, skin on. Lots of good nutrients in the skins! Your high-powered blender will do its job and pulverize those skins, so no worries. I also add protein powder, of course, and half of a frozen banana, for a little extra creaminess.

It’s cherry season and what better way to celebrate this sweet fruit than with this healthy Cherry Vanilla Protein Smoothie.

Cherry Vanilla Protein SmoothieNote: this post contains Amazon affiliate links.

When in season, cherries are abundant in the grocery stores and farmers markets. Cherries come in many varieties, ranging from tart to sweet. Bing cherries are easily found in the stores and they’re perfect to use for smoothies because they’re sweet, not bitter or tart. So grab a bag or two or three of cherries when in season, especially if you like smoothies. You can pit them easily with a cherry pitter and freeze them for later use in your smoothies!

Cherry Vanilla Protein Smoothie

Who could resist this delicious blend of cherry and vanilla? Add the cherries, along with some vanilla protein powder to some vanilla flavored almond milk OR coconut milk; blend with a high-powered blender and you’re in for a healthy smoothie to keep you powered up.

Black Forest Chocolate Cherry Protein Smoothie

Combine chocolate and cherries for a healthy and delicious Black Forest Protein Smoothie.

When fresh cherries are in season, I like to buy a bag, pit them, and freeze them for use in my smoothies. Off season, you can usually find frozen cherries in your grocery store, but make sure they’re pitted! You don’t have to use frozen, pitted cherries in your smoothie, but I like to add them frozen because I dislike adding ice to my smoothies. I find that ice dilutes the flavor while the addition of the frozen fruit keeps it frosty cold.

Here’s a super simple cherry pitter that may come in handy during cherry season!

I also add a frozen banana to this smoothie; it adds a little sweetness. I also add a bit of honey because the unsweetened cocoa can be sharp to the taste. I use unsweetened almond milk, so the addition of honey helps even out the flavor without being too sweet. Of course, adjust all to suit your taste, especially if you’re using sweetened almond milk or if your protein powder is already sweetened.

This is one smoothie recipe where I don’t blend in stages: I just add all the ingredients to my Vitamix blender and let ‘er rip! I do a taste test and adjust accordingly, such as adding more honey or more cocoa if that’s what my taste buds say to do. Enjoy!

Apple Cinnamon Protein Smoothie

Usher in fall with this healthy Apple Cinnamon Protein Smoothie.

Apple Cinnamon Protein SmoothieNote: This post contains affiliate links for Amazon.

Protein smoothies are my life. Well, at least they’re my breakfast and lunch, or brunch, by the time I get around to finishing coffee and thinking about food.

Apples are abundant in the fall, and with so many varieties from which to choose, I had to break out of my favorite smoothie flavor and surprise my taste buds with my version of an apple pie smoothie.

I’m fairly certain I used the Honey Crisp variety of apples. I consulted this handy guide just to be sure. Really, though, I would experiment with different varieties. It’s always fun to try a new one and compare the difference in taste.

Smoothies, as I always mention, are best blended in stages to allow all the large and frozen chunks to blend nicely. Also, a high-powered blender, such as a Vitamix, will be able to handle frozen and large chunks more elegantly than a blender with less sturdy blades.

  • ¾ cup unsweetend almond milk

  • 1 whole frozen organic banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ tsp organic ground cinnamon, or to taste*
  • organic ground cloves, to taste*
  • organic ground ginger, to taste*
  • *Ground spices can be adjusted according to your taste preference. My ratio is about 4:1; 4 x as much cinnamon as ginger and cloves. I suggest starting out with a few shakes of each and taste as you go. You can always add more of one according to your preference.
Instructions
  1. Note: This smoothie yields the best consistency if blended in stages.

  2. In a high-powdered blender, add almond milk, protein powder, ground spices and blend until combined.

  3. Add in chopped apple chunks and blend.
